In his largest dissertation on the supernatural gifts, Paul reminds the church at Corinth that the purpose of spiritual gifts is the edification of the church. Edification can be done through two methods: Expanding the Kingdom of God through sharing the gospel, or the strengthening of believers. The spiritual gifts should be doing one of those two things. Paul cautions us against chaos in our worship because it can be off-putting to those who are just inquiring about God. As believers, we should ensure that we are edifying the church, and maintaining order in our gatherings.
